Description
Salmon (Salmo Salar) , originally the longest fish, is now usually called The Atlantic Salmon. Though more recently the name has been applied to similar fishes of the same family, Salmonidae like trout, chars & whitefishes.
Salmon is rich in vitamin B6, B12, D, phosphorus and omega-3 fatty acids. Salmon are born in fresh water, migrate to the sea as adults, and return to freshwater to reproduce. Their migration plays an important role in culture and diet and is referred to as anadromous, meaning they live in both fresh water and salt water. Characteristically known for having rich flavor, high protein content, and an abundance of healthy omega-3 fatty acids. Varieties : Atlantic Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Trout ,Sockeye Salmon, Coho Salmon.
